For some time, SPM’s technological evolution has been extended to maintain greater compatibility with the environment and well-being of the people who work in the company’s plants.
Choices and investments are oriented not only at limiting waste and harmonization with the urban and environmental fabric within which SPM operates but with strategy dedicated to identifying and developing innovative solutions that improve the already high level of sustainability. By adopting modern technology, today SPM can limit finished product costs, reducing the environmental impact through recycling of the process waste.
For SPM, environmental protection is a mission that was undertaken even prior to the advent in Italy of operations to sustain renewable energy resources. It has been translated into the installation of photovoltaic panels on most of the available roof surfaces of its buildings.
Today, the photovoltaic system covers a surface area of more than 16,000 square meters that provides CO2 savings of more than 438 tonnes/year.
Currently a project aimed at identifying the measures required for the technologies and materials used to reach a production process with zero impact.
SPM achieved the Environmental certification ISO 14001 to sustain the politics on “Ecology & Sustainability”.
